「初めてこの曲を聴いたとき、鳥肌が立ったんですよ。朝、移動中の車でボーッとしたときに テープをもらったんですけど、聴いた瞬間に目が覚めました(笑)。いつも新しい曲をいただく ときってうれしいじゃないですか。でも、今回はデビュー前から、自分が歌いたかった曲はこ れだ！ って思える曲と出会えたって言うか。なんか、運命みたいなものを感じるんですよね」 昨年は初のベスト盤をリリースし、念願の初ワンマンライブも実現させた平家みちよ。21世紀の新たな一歩を踏み出そうとしている今、つんくプロデュース第３弾の『結局 Ｂｙｅ Ｂｙｅ Ｂｙｅ』は、まさに彼女の運命を大きく変える曲になるかもしれない。しかし、出会いが衝撃的だったぶん、曲の完成までにはこれまでにない苦労があったようだ。

曲を何百回も聴いたり…っていうのはもう当然のことで。後は、ホントに微妙な違いなんですけど、今回は歌入れ中に歌詞をまったく見ないで歌えるように、歌詞を徹底的に丸暗記したんです。そうしたら、歌っていて全然違った世界観が見えてきたんですね。例えば同じ言葉を歌ってても、１番なら１番、２番なら２番の世界があるから感情の込め方も微妙に違ってきてこの詞の女性は、意志の強さがあっても、弱さがちらちらしてると思うんですよ。そこがこの詞のおもしろいところでもあるんですよ｡“女ってこれだからわかんないんだよなー”って男の子が言うような感じがすごく入ってるんじゃないかな
I feel like I was born to sing this song. When I listened to this song for the first time, I felt goose bumps. I received the demo tape when I was feeling spacey in a car. But as soon as I listened to it, it woke me right up. lol.
As you know, whenever I receive the new song, I get excited. But this time, it was a little bit different. All my life, I’d been searching for the perfect match, and this song was exactly it. I feel like I was born to sing this song.
My first recording attempt wasn’t very good. I felt like the song ‘owned’ me, and I never felt like that before. Since it was easy to memorize, I thought it was going to be easy to sing too, but boy was I wrong! I realized at that point that I had to change my whole attitude to face this song. Tsunku also gave me a piece of advice: ‘Please forget about how you used to sing, and find a new way to sing this song and built a new image for yourself.’ So I was able to be humble once again in a positive way.
[...] The main character in this song is a strong-willed woman with a little bit of weakness showing up here and there. And that’s what’s interesting about the lyrics. Men would usually admit, ‘that’s why I never quite understand women’s minds.’ This song reflects those typical feelings about women very well. This song has a mixture of who I am and who I’d like to be. If you have a chance to listen to this song on a wired radio etc. and realize, ‘I now understand who Michiyo Heike really is. I like her, and I like this song’, then that would make me very happy. I’m not sure how many copies will be sold, but I’ve put a lot of my soul into it. I wish many people could feel my energy through this song.
