KARASU no nyoubou ni naru kara ne
When you drink, you become forgetful
You only say good things
But then, like a raven, you return to your home somewhere else
And that’s okay because I am deeply in love with you
I’m okay with remaining as a telephone pole
that keeps on waiting for you to return to me
Next time I'm born, I'll live with you
I'll become a raven's wife
When you're drunk, you rest your head
in my lap and pretend to sleep; I love you
Please don’t fly away like a raven,
Even though you miss your seven children
No matter where in the world you run to,
the sunrise and sunset will be with you
Next time I'm born, I'll live with you
I'll become a raven's wife
I’m okay with remaining as a telephone pole
that keeps on waiting for you to return to me
Next time I'm born, I'll live with you
I'll become a raven's wife
I'll become a raven's wife

Notes[]
- Wasuregusa (忘れ草) is another name for daylily; the 'wasure' (忘れ) part of the word carries the meaning of 'forgetting distress caused by love'.
- The stanza "KARASU mitai ni tondekanaide nanatsu no kodomo ga koishikutatte" ("Please don’t fly away like a raven, even though you miss your seven children") might be a reference to the song Nanatsu no Ko.
