- Although the ～心が躍り出してる～ in the title is translated in the official subs as "my heart is dancing" (something which is most likely an intended secondary meaning), odori is written as 躍り (jump/leap/throb), not 踊り (dance), making the primary meaning "My heart is starting to throb".

Juice=Juiceのシングルは前回「カラダだけが大人になったんじゃない」に続いての参加ですね。 NEXT YOUでは「アイドル」というのを想定して作り上げましたが、今回はつんく♂として今の時代にどんな音楽を提供するかということで、最近、力をつけてきているJuice=Juiceがどんな歌を歌えばよいかと考えました。
ライブで盛り上がるための曲が欲しいとライブ現場に立ち会えば立ち会うほど、思ってしまいがちですが、僕はなるだけそこは冷静に判断し、これまでもシングルとなるべく曲は「ライブのため」ではなく「そのアーティストのため」というのを基本に考えてきました。
もちろん流れの中で「ここでライブでドカン！と盛り上がり系の曲をシングルに！」ってことも全体の戦略のひとつでもありますから一概には断定しませんが、大きな軸として、そう考えて曲制作をしてきました。 今回のこの曲も曲を作った段階でCOOLでありSmartであり、そしてそこにはメッセージがあり、そして歌心がある。 そのようなことがテーマでした。
そしてバックトラックの制作を進行させながら歌詞を書きました。
「夢を追え、何も恐れるな」ということを言いたくって。
「夢」というのは、人生を変えるのに大いなる原動力となります。 特に日本では「歌手を続ける」というようなことに対して「給料ゼロでもいいからがんばりたい！」的な根性論も登場するほど、「夢があればなんだって出来る」そのように思います。 なので、Juice=Juiceのメンバーもそうですし、まだまだこれから時代を背負っていきたい世代には「夢」を持ち、シャニム二突き進んでほしいとそう思います。
この曲の歌詞を書き始めたら僕の心が躍り出して仕方なかったんです。 なので、どうしてもそれを入れたく、タイトルにしました。
そして最終的に思ったのは、盛り上げるために書いた曲じゃないのに、めちゃライブ盛り上げ系の定番になりそうな曲になったやん！ って思ったのが一番嬉しい感想です。
メンバーもとても気にいってくれてるので、浸透していくのが 楽しみです！
I'm participating in this Juice=Juice single again in continuation of the last single, "Karada dake ga Otona ni Nattan ja nai".
I wrote for NEXT YOU with the concept of "idol" in mind, but this time around, I thought about what kind of music I would offer as "Tsunku♂" in this era, and what kind of music would be good for Juice=Juice, who has been growing stronger lately, to sing.
The more you witness their live performances, the easier it is to fall into the trap of thinking "I want a song that'll liven up concerts", but I try to judge the matter as calmly and rationally as possible, so even up to this point, I've always thought that when it came to singles, a song should be "for the artist", not "for concerts".
Of course, the trend has shifted to "Let's make this song that pops and fires up concerts into a single!" also playing a part in overall strategies, so I can't say my opinion is absolute, but as a whole, I've been writing songs with that in mind. For this song as well, while I was writing it, making it COOL and Smart and making sure it had a message and a soul was the theme I had in mind. And so, I wrote the lyrics as I created the backtrack.
I wanted to say, "Chase your dreams, don't be afraid of anything."
Dreams can become a tremendous driving force to change your life. Especially in Japan, where a level of grit and do-or-die determination that's very "for the sake of continuing on as a singer, I want to give it my all, I don't care if my salary is zero!" appears, I think that if you have a dream, you can do anything.
So, the same is true for the members of Juice=Juice. I want this generation that wants to shoulder an era that's yet to come to hold onto their dreams and push on forward furiously.
When I started writing this song, my heart started throbbing and I couldn't help it. And so, I really wanted to include that, so I made it the song title. And finally, although I thought it wasn't a song written to liven up a crowd, it ended up being a song that really seems like it'll fire you up and become a staple at concerts! It was the happiest thing of all to think that. The members also like it very much, so I'm looking forward to the song catching on!
