Hi everyone! I realize I've been using category tags inconsistently, so I'd appreciate everyone's input on the following three points about what category tags to use and when.

Currently this is how I think of it:

1) [[Category:Group Name]]

When to use: any time a group sings in a song.

Example: Hyokkori Hyoutanjima has the tag [[Category: Kobushi Factory]], [[Category:Tsubaki Factory]].

Questions:

-For groups that have gone through name changes, should both names be tagged?

Example: does Sukichan need the [[Category:ANGERME]] and [[Category:S/mileage]] tag, or just one?

-For groups in established "supergroups", should their individual group names be tagged?

Example: does Chou HAPPY Song need the tag [[Category:Berryz Koubou]] and [[Category:C-ute]] besides the tag [[Category:BeriKyuu]]?

2) [[Category:Group Name Single A-sides]] / [[Category: Group Name Album Songs]]

When to use: description of the first release a song has had, under that group's name or former name.

Example: LOVE Machine has been on 4 albums but it was first released as a single, so it only has the tag [[Category: Morning Musume Single A-sides]]. Aa!'s Yume to Genjitsu was released on a Petit Best Album so it gets a [[Category:Aa!]] tag but no release tag, since [[Category: Aa! Album Songs]] would incorrectly imply it came from a (nonexistent) Aa! album.

Questions:

-This is extremely rare, but for A-sides rereleased on separate singles should both releases be tagged?

Example: does Ai no Tane need the [[Category: Morning Musume Single B-sides]] as well?

-Do digital singles count as a first release?

Example: Would Hana ga Saku Taiyou Abite and Gosenfu no Tasuki need the [[Category:Morning Musume Album Song]] in addition to [[Category:Morning Musume Single A-sides]]?

3) [[Category:Unit Songs]]

When to use: as mentioned in the lyrics template description, this is any song issued on a group release that is not sung by the full group. This technically describes member solos like Tsuugaku Vector as well, but I've been tagging those as [[Category:Solo Songs]].

Questions:

-Do solos fit under the "unit songs" description or is it implied to be units with two or more members?

If anyone's seen me use any other category tags incorrectly or has any other points to clarify, please let me know!

I just wanted to air some thoughts about cc codes from Projecthello.

I have added many songs to this wiki, and the majority of them is wrong in either kanji, romaji, translation or cc codes. It is difficult figuring out who is singing when there are groups/songs/voices I am not familiar with (like v-u-den for instance), so it is difficult proofreading cc codes, but when I hear a mistake I always add that to the page of this wiki.

I saw someone edited Go Girl Koi no Victory by MM, with the note "changed cc source since project hello is EXTREMELY wrong".

When archiving lyrics on this site, is it necessary to use Projecthello anymore?

I know that was the initial idea (as stated on the front page), but would it be OK not to do so if I can find kanji/romaji/translations elsewhere?

I don't wanna step on any toes, but it has been bugging me how many mistakes they have.

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the place to ask questions (and I probably should have asked some of them a lot sooner) but:

1. Is it Ookubo Kaoru or Okubo Kaoru? (Also, is there a romanization reference list somewhere for songwriters/arrangers, because I've messed up names like "Hirata Shoichiro" and "Makaino Koji" a non-zero amount of times.)

2. For album liner notes that are basically "general album notes, section about track #1, section about track #2, section about track #3...general album notes again", I've been posting only the track-specific sections per song lyrics page. However, that means the general album notes would never get translated. Is there a better/established way to do this?

3. Sometimes lyric lines are broken differently in Projecthello compared to Japanese lyrics sites like uta-net, Oricon, etc. When that happens, I prioritize the Japanese lyrics site formatting (mostly because it aligns with the CD lyrics booklets), but it might confuse newer fans if the spacing doesn't match. Should I use Projecthello formatting when linking Projecthello color codes in the future, or leave a note in the Notes section?

4. For the new lyrics template, can we add a Spanish section? I'm not brave enough to try and translate stuff in Portuguese or French, but making a Spanish translation (that others can hopefully revise and edit) alongside any new entries I add seems doable, esp. since most existing Spanish translations I've seen floating around have been translations of translations.

5. Currently, there's an "untranslated liner notes" category tag for missing liner note translations, but no category tag for missing color codes or missing translations beyond just looking at the checkmark boxes in the Discography pages or browsing the broad "Incomplete Lyrics Page" category. Could we add extra tags so we know at a glance exactly what's missing? (For example, I'm really bad at color coding, but I'd gladly try and tackle missing translations.)

(Lastly, thank you to everyone for working on this wiki and helping fix my mistakes and messes. The tutorial posts were super-helpful and informative, but...I'm aware my learning curve is/was steep. ><)

Would it be an idea to include music work by Sharan Q as well? Like, Taisei and Makoto were in a band with Onishi, and Onishi was also featured on some obscure songs with Hello !Project acts (like the GARAGE singles). They are tied up to H!P in some way. ANy pros? Cons?

Should we keep these on two separated pages or one?

I have a few suggestion for how song credits are handled. Right now, it might have

and then at the bottom to assign appropriate categories,

I think it would be useful to link to these categories from within the main text of the page rather than just from the category list, like

Downside, it's more work to type out and you still have to have mirror versions of these credits along with the categories. So I'd further suggest a template that would both add the page to the appropriate category and link to it. So then the page would just need

and nothing at the bottom of the page. I considered that with a template like that it might not even be necessary to have the fixed text to the left, but I think trying to do EVERYTHING with one template could lead to some awkwardness for roles beyond the most common ones.

What should we do in terms of hosting non-Hello! Project Up Front acts on the wiki? I feel like it makes sense to keep the contemporary female acts like UUG, Lovelyz and Bitter & Sweet on, since their demographic is pretty similar to H!P, but what about say, Moritaka Chisato?

Similarly, with male acts, I think it makes a lot of sense to host Joujou Gundan on this wiki because their main job is hosting H!P events and one of their songs is literally about H!P, plus they only have 2 singles. But some of the other acts, like the members of Brothers 5, have huge discographies and I would think aren't really of that much interest to H!P fans.

Honestly the size of the discographies is probably one of the main things that makes me unsure about adding male UF acts who've directly contributed to H!P like Takui, Eric, KAN and Sharan Q. We probably wouldn't end up having pages for that many of their songs anyway and they're fairly peripheral to the main point of this wiki.

What do you think?

Is there any intention or interest in including live versions of color-coded songs where they vary from the original version? Because if so, boy do I have a bunch of old things to post...
